Thanks for Visiting Swordplay LA's Virtual Summer Camp Fair Booth! Here's a little bit about ourselves. . .
Prepare for a duel to the fun and fitness! If your kid is all about swordplay and lightsabers, we've got the perfect camps for them. Our programs cater to anyone aged 8-14. We even have a special lightsaber bootcamp for teens and adults.
One-Week Fencing Summer Camps (Ages 8-14): Your kid will have a blast with our fencing camps whether they’re a first-time duelist or have a few bouts under their belt. Each fencing camp ends with a tournament and plenty of smiles.
One-Week Jedi Academy Summer Camps (Ages 4-7): Activate your lightsaber and don your Jedi robes! We’ll help your youngling hone their agility, reflexes, strength, and focus while learning basic fencing techniques. Each youngling will receive a Force-Sensitive Crystal and demonstrate their new skills at the end of the camp. By week’s end, they’ll be ready to save the galaxy from the First Order!
One-Day Lightsaber Choreography Bootcamp (Ages 14+): Lightsaber combat isn’t kids’ stuff anymore. This summer, for the first time ever, teens and grown-ups get to learn the art of lightsaber dueling. You’ll not only learn the dynamic moves and strikes of lightsaber dueling, you’ll also get to choreograph and record your very own duel!

How Swordplay LA Protects Your Kids' Health This Summer
We understand that your child's health is your first priority. It's our number one priority, too. Our camps are only fun if everyone is safe and healthy. Here's what we're doing to ensure that:
We understand that your child's health is your first priority. It's our number one priority, too. Our camps are only fun if everyone is safe and healthy. Here's what we're doing to ensure that:
- We're Limiting Camp Sizes: Only eight students are allowed in any of our camps this year, which still leaves room for the instructor and a volunteer assistant. Not only does this lower your child's risk of exposure, it allows for maximal use of our facility.
- We're Providing Hand Sanitizer: We have a ton of hand sanitizer in our facility, and will make it readily available for our campers. Camp instructors will provide and enforce clear guidelines for when students need to clean their hands, and they will lead by example.
- Strict Stay-At-Home Policy: If an instructor is sick, no matter how minor they think the illness is, they will stay home and send in a substitute.
- Practicing Social Distancing: Instructors will never make body contact with their students, and they will only play games and exercises that don't require students to touch each other. They'll also teach fencing etiquette that maintains social distancing (e.g. touching blades instead of shaking hands after a match).

About Our Location
Swordplay LA is conveniently located in the Magnolia Park neighborhood near Downtown Burbank. We're also an Affiliate of the United States Fencing Association.
Swordplay LA was founded in 1992 by Tim Weske, and came under the ownership of Ryan Cook and Mary Spohn in 2019. This fencing club is a staple of Burbank and Los Angeles, and it continues to offer a warm and welcoming training facility for fencers of all ages and experience levels.
Our facility is optimized for the sport of fencing: Strips are painted on the floor; we have plenty of training equipment; and fencing gear is available for students who don't have their own. It has a unique atmosphere, too. Your kids will feel like they're sword fighting inside a medieval castle, making for a unique summer camp experience!
